Hello girls and gals. So we’ve already stated that this is a blog devoted to free thought and keeping our minds clear of all the clutter and crud that is slung into the undercarriage of our subconscious on the freeway of life.
So today I wanted to introduce you to a very interesting character, somebody whose thoughts I consider to be very realistic and down to earth. His name is Stephen Fry.
Stephen Fry was born on August 24th, 1957 in London, England. He is an actor and comedian, an author and a journalist, a broadcaster and a film director. Not only has he worked with television and film, he has contributed many columns and articles in newspapers and newspapers. He is also a novelist, having written four novels and a three volume autobiography.
He is also very much an academic, having studied at Cambridge and graduated with upper second second-class honors.
He wields a considerable amount of influence, and has accidentally caused the websites of many organizations and charities to crash with the humongous flood of traffic that generally follows after he mentions their website on his twitter account.
Now, where does all this come into play on this blog, you may ask?
He openly and repeatedly expresses opposition to all forms of organized religion, and chooses to think for himself. He even goes so far as to describe himself as an atheist and humanist, though showing a little bit of sympathetic interest in the Greek gods of old.
He once even considered priesthood in the Anglican church, but declined, deciding that he could not believe in God, because he saw more truth in capricious and fickle gods. Certainly the same God who gives life and sustenance to so many couldn’t be choosing to give children cancer.
There are so many evils in the world that are not our fault, he once said in an interview. And isn’t it so?
What do you all think? Give this short video a watch, and don’t be afraid to chime in with what you think about his thoughts!
